New Music: Shakira - "Nunca Me Acuerdo de Olvidarte" ("CRTFY" Spanish Version)
Shakira keeps up with the trend of releasing Spanish versions of her English first singles with the release of "Nunca Me Acuerdo De Olvidarte". The Spanish edit of her newest single (already a hit), the reggae-rock track "Can't Remember To Forget You" hit iTunes on January 21st, 2014. Contrary to the original English version, "Nunca Me Acuerdo De Olvidarte" is a solo song. There's no Rihanna assistance. Sad, because many fans were expecting to hear RiRi singing "en español".
The John Hill and Kid Harpoon co-produced reggae-rock beat is kept intact, and Shakira did a pretty faithful translation of the lyrics into Spanish. All in all, I personally love the English, Rihanna duet version better, but no way Spanish flows better for Shakira, lol. Now we can finally understand what's saying!
