New Music: Nicole Scherzinger - "God of War" [Audio / Review]

nicole scherzinger god of war

Can “Big Fat Lie” be the album that really launches Nicole Scherzinger’s solo career in America? She just released the stunning ballad “Run” as the lead US single (clever choice I must say) and I’m confident the American people will make it AT LEAST a semi-hit. "Run" is just too good and powerful to be wasted. Fingers crossed! So why do I throw at you the question if “Big Fat Lie” could be Nicole's big break in the US? Because - although I sort of lost hope when I heard the cheesy “On the Rocks” – “Run” is really stunning and probably Nicole’s best solo song yet, and this newly-leaked track titled “God of War" is really good too! So I've liked "Your Love", "Run" and now "God of War". “On the Rocks” is the ugly duck and let's pretend it never happened. This means Nicole's “Big Fat Lie” is shaping up to be actually pretty good. I’m excited!

"God of War" song review

Track #5 on the album "God of War" leaked in the morning of Saturday, October 11th. (Released as iTunes Countdown Single somewhere maybe?). The The Dream and Tricky Stewart co-written and co-produced up-tempo dark song is just HOT. It might strike you as a bit "weird" on the first listen due to its atypical structure and sudden change in sound (the bridge sounds like a different song), but just give it a a few more spins, because you're going to end up loving it and addicted to it.

"God of War" is a song where Nicole narrates how she felt an ex of hers was really like a "God of War", a person who always wanted to start fights.

The production and the vocals on "God of War" are really stunning. And for me, it’s that bridge that steals the show. Just wow. Really good stuff, Nicole! Although it's sort of a dark song, due to its message, I love the fact that you can totally dance to "God of War".
