New Music: Ellie Goulding - "Love Me Like You Do" [Full - From 'Fifty Shades of Grey']
Capital Radio (UK) had the world exclusive of the first play of Ellie Goulding's brand new song "Love Me Like You Do" on Wednesday at 8AM (England time) – January 7th. The sultry mid-tempo is Ellie’s contribution to the soundtrack of the film adaptation of “Fifty Shades of Grey” – hitting theatres on Valentine's Day (Feb. 14).
"Love Me Like You Do" was co-written by Ilya, Tove Lo, Savan Kotecha, Max Martin and Ali Payami, with Martin and Payami acting as co-producers too.
Although the radio premiere was today, the official digital launch (iTunes, Amazon) is expected to occur tomorrow, January 8th. Have your credit card ready!
"Love Me Like You Do" song review
Everything Ellie Goulding does and records is flawless and "Love Me Like You Do" is no exception. A drum-heavy nostalgic production is the perfect ambiance for Ellie's ethereal vocals. She smashed this real hard. "Touch me like you do, what are you waiting for?", Ellie asks her love in the chorus. "Love Me Like You Do" has become my favourite “Fifty Shades of Grey” soundtrack song to date. Sorry, The Weeknd.
I'm just so amazed at how radio-friendly this song is. It may be a "soundtrack" song, but this has potential to be a stand-alone smash single.
Update: Official VEVO audio added.
