Most popular songs of 2012 (overview)
The year 2012 was a great year for DirectLyrics. In October, on the release day of Taylor Swift's new album DirectLyrics saw over 1 million page views in a single day. To bring honors to 2012 we've created an overview of the top songs of 2012 according to our lyrics page view counter. Unsurprisingly Taylor Swift (#1) leads the chart, followed by One Direction (#2) and Maroon 5 (#3). Honorable mentions for 2012 are Nicki Minaj with four chart entries and Alicia Keys (#15) who made the biggest comeback of the year. Indie band Mumford & Sons did great at #26 together with new comer Phillip Phillips's "Home" (#30).
Compared to 2011's top songs we miss Beyonce (busy with her baby), Selena Gomez (no new music), Drake (only collabs).
