Now those were 4 minutes of my life I won’t get back…

R&B crooner Miguel premiered this Wednesday morning, July 29th, the official music video for “NWA” - the brand new single off his “Wildheart” album that debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 chart earlier this month.

Does anyone else think the hype for Miguel has diminished somewhat now that The Weeknd is the new ‘it’ R&B crooner? Just wanted to put this idea out there…

Back to “NWA” (which apparently means “No White Allowed”) and the music video, I like the song, I like Miguel but this newly-released visual is just beyond boring. Like literally I want a refund of the 4 minutes of my life I just spent. The MV basically shows Miguel sitting on his bed, exiting and entering houses, and walking the streets of his neighborhood. I really didn’t want to ask but… how long did it take to shoot this music video? 15 minutes?

I’m not a hater of the simplistic, in fact I’ve loved many “basic” music videos, but when you want to do a minimalist/simple music video you really have to come up with a cool way of execution and/or aesthetics. Miguel’s “NWA” is just pointless in my humble opinion.

What do you think of the video?

Update: Miguel also premiered today the "Going to Hell" music video!
