Lady Gaga Debuts 'Partynauseous' at 'ArtRave' Tour Opener In Fort Lauderdale
At last! Lady Gaga finally gave fans what they had been patiently waiting to hear for two years. It's the unreleased song 'Partynauseous', which Gaga debuted live during the the first night of her 'ArtRave: The Artpop Ball' tour in Ft. Lauderdale on Sunday, May 4th.
'Partynauseous' was written and recorded in 2012 inspired by Gaga's cancelled show in Jakarta, Indonesia (from 'The Born This Way Ball') due to strong threats of violence from Islamic extremists. Lady Gaga sent the demo to rapper Kendrick Lamar who loved the message behind the song, and went ahead to include a couple of personal verses in it. The then-Kendrick and Gaga collaboration was announced for inclusion on 'Good Kid, M.A.A.D City' and it was set for release on iTunes one whole month before Kendrick's new album came out. The September 6th, 2012 iTunes release was scrapped.
Due to last minute creative differences between Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar's teams, 'Partynauseous' was no more. The NYC pop diva did say 'Partynauseous' would be 'be released at a different time, for a different project'.
'Partynauseous' was again re-worked as a solo song and it was very much thought it would be featured on 'Artpop', but that wasn't the case. The song for the second time missed an album's tracklisting final cut. Little Monster's (Lady Gaga fans) now expect 'Partynauseous' to appear on the confirmed Volume 2 of 'Artpop'.
And it all points out 'Partynauseous' will have a future as the song has been added to the setlist of Gaga's 'ArtRave: The Artpop Ball' tour and fans have uploaded footage of its performance during the first concert at BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
'Partynauseous' was actually played as an interlude (studio version), with Gaga only 'performing' the song live during the last seconds of it. What the heck was she wearing though? She looks like the Blue Girl in 'The Fifth Element' movie.
