Pop superstar Lady Gaga was one of the women honored by T Magazine as one of the “Greats” in its most recent issue, a honor given to Mother Monster for her undeniable contribution to the fashion world. That’s why the “Perfect Illusion” singer was invited last night (Oct. 19) to The Carlyle hotel in New York City to the New York Times / T Magazine gala, which gathered top bosses of the prestigious publication as well as NYC socialites. For this event, held jus two days before the release of her new album “Joanne”, Lady Gaga attended wrapped up in a Victorian-inspired red dress, and besides being honored with a beautiful set of words by the gala host, Gaga also wanted to contribute with her grain of sand by performing her song “Angel Down” live for the first time ever at the event. In pre-gala tweets, Lady Gaga confirmed “Angel Down” was inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement and clapped back at Jon Caramanica, ironically a journalist from the New York Times, for being so harsh with his review of “Joanne”. Was that hater in attendance?

Incredibly, as of the writing of this post, there is no video showing the full performance of “Angel Down”. However, we do have several photos of Gaga at the event. From posing with her fans outside, walking the facility and of course performing with her piano. Hard to believe that the people that took this pictures didn’t record a video too, huh? Did Gaga maybe asked them to not shoot videos?

It had been a long time since we didn’t see Lady Gaga breaking the mold with her fashion choices. Will this be start of the return of the old Gaga? This vintage-y red dress was everything!

*As soon as a video of the “Angel Down” performance hits the Internet we will update this post. Stay tuned!
