Jessie J Rocks "Burnin' Up" & "Masterpiece" on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"
Jessie J took to the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” stage earlier this week to perform a couple songs from “Sweet Talker”. She did “Burnin’ Up” WITH 2 Chainz (first time!) as well as “Masterpiece”, which has recently been announced as the next single from Jessie J’s newly-released album. I think it’s a wrong choice, but whatever. I do like a few songs on “Sweet Talker” but being realistic there’s none that will ever match the success of “Bang Bang” or come even closer. I mean, a big part of “Bang Bang” becoming a hit was because of Nicki and Ariana’s features because a solo Jessie J version would have flopped. But I guess Jessie already knows this?
Even though there are no more single-worthy songs on “Sweet Talker”, I do have a soft spot for “Seal Me With A Kiss”. I really like the groovy groove in this song!
Back to the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” performances, Jessie J killed it vocally but didn’t kill it in the “fashion” department. That outfit didn’t look too performance-y to me, but more “out and out in NYC”. Also, I would have preferred she had sung “Bang Bang” instead of “Burnin’ Up”. “Burnin’ Up” is just ain’t happening on the charts nor radios.
