Jason Derulo’s 2018 FIFA World Cup Official Song “Colors” Is Here: Stream

jason derulo colors

Jason Derulo has been chosen to sing the Coca-Cola Anthem for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which kicks off in mid-June and will take place in Russia. Will “Colors” be the equivalent to Shakira’s “Waka Waka? I guess so? Looks like Coca-Cola is sponsoring this year’s FIFA World Cup official anthem and Jason Derulo is the official singer. So it’s him that we will be seeing in the middle of the Moscow stadium at the closing ceremony performing…eh. No disrespect to Jason Derulo, I think he has an incredible career, but I just thought FIFA World Cup official anthems were done by a little bit more “global” artists. See Shakira, Pitbull with Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin…

But the truly important factor here is, is the song good? And unfortunately the answer is a straight and big no. I just don’t see Jason uplifting anyone or making the crowd at the Moscow stadium get up on their feet and go into frenzy with “Colors”. The song may have cool Caribbean-African festive folklore beats but the overall song is bland. The chorus is not memorable and when I finished hearing the song for the first time there was simply no desire in me to hear it for a second time. And that’s bad when it comes to official anthems of the FIFA World Cups. Jason better keep doing his usual sexual, upbeat songs as that’s the terrain where he really excels.
