Hallelujah: Azealia Banks Deletes Twitter! Will It Be For Good, Though?

Today when I woke up I had the feeling it was going to be a good day. And indeed, it is.

Today I woke up with the news that last night (March 8) female rapper Azealia Banks had deleted, or deactivated (however you want to call it) her official Twitter account. And should this be something permanent…HALLELUJAH! Because truth is that I wasn’t going to endure any more hateful tweets towards Rihanna’s new “Work” video or Iggy Azalea’s “lack” of talent, or her tweeting about all of the reasons why she planned to vote for Trump. Enough was enough. Couldn’t Azealia just have shut up and not meddle in subjects that weren’t of her concern?. I mean, no problem with someone speaking his/her mind on specific things, but the level of repetition from Azealia got too annoying (she just went on, and on, and on!), and we all knew she just wanted to start a hateful debate/controversy so that she would get more headlines on blogs.

Before deleting her Twitter account yesterday, Azealia went on a rant about how social media sucked and that she wanted to be more “mysterious”. Check out her two last “goodbye” tweets to her millions of followers below.

1. "Ok, today, i'm finally making the decision to eject from social media. american media culture is honestly so f*cking disgusting and junky."

2. "So my friends, it’s time to say goodbye once and for all to this account. This account will exist no more."

Hallelujah!

Will this decision be for good, though? Will yesterday had been the last day of Azealia Banks annoying us on Twitter? Personally, this is what I’m hoping. But I’m a bit on the doubting side because of that “this account” remark in her last tweet. Does that perhaps mean that she has a secondary Twitter account that we don’t know of?

By the way, now that I think about it…how is the raptress going to promote her music now? Do you think she thought about this before hitting the “delete” button on her Twitter account settings? I’m worried that her plans are to return to Twitter the very day her new mixtape “Slay-Z” gets released. OH NO, could this Twitter deletion be a marketing move by Azealia to get fast headlines again because “Slay-Z” is ABOUT to be released and she needed the “attention”? I hope this is not a trap!

Thinking of going celebrate?
