Fifth Harmony To Release "She's My Girl" - Written By Tinashe - As First Single From Upcoming Second Album?
Little by little new details about Fifth Harmony’s next album - the group's much-anticipated second studio one and follow-up to the flawless “Reflection” - are unveiled.
This week a new interview with R&B singer Tinashe was published by Spin (a rather controversial one I must add. Did you know she leaked "Party Favors" to make RCA rush the start of her new era? Wow!) and amid all the exclusive information the website's journalist included on his text, he mentioned that Tinashe had recently received confirmation that the track she had written for Fifth Harmony, titled “She’s My Girl”, had been approved for inclusion on the girl group’s upcoming album, and that is was being considered as first single too.
Here’s what can be read on Spin’s Tinashe’s interview:
“Last month, she got word that the song she wrote for Fifth Harmony’s impending sophomore album — a track called “She’s My Girl,” cooked up while on the road with Perry — is being considered for the girl group’s kickoff single.”
Earlier this month Spin also interviewed Fifth Harmony’s 1/5 Lauren Jauregui and she discussed back then about the songs (saying no titles) Tinashe had written for the group’s new album (yep, she wrote more than just one for the girls) – getting a little specific about the sound and theme of said Tinashe-penned music.
"As for the Tinashe collaborations — “melodic pop with R&B pockets” she says — Jauregui admitted that the tracks (one helmed by Max Martin’s camp, the other produced by Dr. Luke) connected with her and her bandmates because of the similarities in age between them and their writer. “She has really sick melody flows and lyrics,” she says of Tinashe. “It’s very cohesive with us. It’s drawing from the same experience. That’s what’s important at the end of the day: having an authentic sound and having someone who understands what we’re going through.”

“She’s My Girl” sounds pop, radio-friendly, empowering and totally amazing. And I haven’t heard a single second of it yet!
As you can 'feel', the buzz surrounding Fifth Harmony’s forthcoming second album is getting stronger and stronger. Rumor has it that Epic Records plan to drop this album in either January or February 2016 - meaning that 1) the lead single must be already picked (“She’s My Girl”, holler?) and that 2) its world premiere must be imminent. Ready for 5H’s return?
