Dua Lipa made her “Saturday Night Live” debut over the weekend on the Natalie Portman-hosted thirteenth episode of Season 43 of the iconic NBC variety show.
As expected, the British pop singer performed two songs live on Saturday’s show and the chosen ones were “New Rules” and “Homesick” – both available on Dua’s self-titled debut studio album. The surprise was real when we discovered Dua wouldn’t perform her current, new single “IDGAF”, favoring “Homesick” instead.
Hmmm… I like “Homesick” but “IDGAF” deserved an “SNL” performance. Just saying…
Dua sounded really beautiful in “Homesick” and although the performance of “New Rules” was good too, I did miss a group choreography with other girls kind of recreating the music video. That would have slayed and made this performance a little more memorable.
