British alternative pop band Bastille released a brand new song called "Quarter Past Midnight" earlier today (May 9) on all digital platforms. "Quarter Past Midnight" serves as the official first single from Bastille's yet-untitled third studio album, which will be released later in 2018 via Virgin EMI Records.
"It's a quarter past midnight / And the sirens are mending some hearts / But we're the losers on the back seats / Singing "Love Will Tear Us Apart"", sings frontman Dan Smith on the first verse of the new Bastille song.
Dan basically speaks here about partying late at night, followed by regret and anxiety. In a recent interview the Bastille leader called "Quarter Past Midnight" a “nighttime” song and described the band's forthcoming album as an “apocalyptic party record”
