Alicia Keys Sings "We Are Here" Live on "Jimmy Fallon" (Video)
Alicia Keys stopped by “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon” on Monday night (September 8th) to perform for the first time live and on television her new political protest song “We Are Here”. The R&B singer premiered the music video for the inspiring ballad yesterday too. Alicia Keys’s sixth studio album will be released within the next few months via RCA Records, and although it is expected “We Are Here” is included on the tracklisting, it has been confirmed the song isn’t the official first single yet.
“We Are Here” is a political protest ballad where Alicia Keys raises her voice to speak of the Israel vs. Gaza conflict, gun laws, among other issues.
Wearing a head bandana, Alicia Keys played her black Yamaha piano and powerfully and emotionally sang “We Are Here”. You can tell Alicia is proud to have written this song. She sounded exactly as the studio version, if not better. Accompanying Alicia on stage was a member of the Roots. On the wall behind them words like “war”, “joy”, education”, or “freedom” were written in white paint.
